£103m for renewable energy in Scotland
This amount of money comes from the Fossil Fuel Levy and is additional to the Scottish government's budget.
The Fossil Fuel Levy is a tax which was introduced in 1996 and is paid by suppliers of non-renewable energy sources and currently holds about £206m. One half of it will go to Scottish projects on renewable energy and the other £103m will be used to support the UK-wide Green Investment Bank.
I think it's important to spend money on renewable energy supply because we have to take care of our planet because we only have this one. Unfortunately to many big companies our environment is absolutely not important, they only want to make as much money as possible. However, I think money does not have a value such a great value that it justifies the destruction of planet Earth!!
It would be great to know what you think of it.
