Two months ago the “Occupy Wall street” movement which has its ideological origin in the recent protests against Arabian dictatorships, began to demonstrate against the economic inequality in New York. In these last weeks the movement has become a worldwide one.
A few days ago thousands of demonstrators have marched on Brooklyn Bridge after they were forced to leave Zuccotti Park. Some of them were even arrested.
The Deputy Commissioner of Public Information for the New York Police Department said the officers were instructed to allow lawful protest and arrest only those who broke the law.
